  • What is Health Surplus plan?

    It is a high deductible policy that pays for inpatient expenses over and above the deductible limit. The deductible is applied on each and every claim.

  • Does the Health Surplus plan covers pre and post hospitalisation expenses?

    Pre-hospitalisation expenses are covered within 60 days and post-hospitalisation expenses are covered up to 90 days.

  • Is cashless claim facility available under Health Surplus plan?

    Yes, there is a cashless claim facility available under Health Surplus plan. 

  • Is Health Surplus plan available as a stand-alone policy?

    Health Surplus plan can either be taken as a standalone policy as well can be clubbed with Health Suraksha or any other individual health insurance or group insurance plan.

  • What is the waiting period under the Health Surplus plan?

    The pre-existing conditions are covered after a waiting period of 4 years. Joint replacement surgery is covered after 3 years.

  • Can I port my existing high deductible policy to Health Surplus?

    Yes, you can easily port your existing high deductible policy to Health Surplus by giving the notification of the same 45 days prior to the policy renewal date.

  • Is medical test necessary under Health Surplus plan?

    There is no need for a pre-policy medical checkup if the proposer is less than 55 years of age provided there is no medical declaration made in the proposal form.

  • What is meant by per claim deductible?

    It means the prescribed deductible amount will be deducted from each admissible claim and balance will be paid. In the case where there is relapse within 45 days of the first hospitalisation, a single deductible will be applied on the total claim amount.

  • Is Health Surplus policy available as a family floater option?

    Yes, Health Surplus policy is also available as a family floater option under which you can get coverage for yourself, your spouse and up to 2 dependent children.

  • Why do I need a high deductible policy?

    The high deductible plan is beneficial in situations wherein the actual medical expenses cross the threshold limit, i.e. deductible. This plan comes with very attractive premium rates and can be opted in combination with other plans such as Health Suraksha to get higher coverage.
