Bharti AXA Health Insurance Premium Calculator
There are various factors which can influence the premium amount of health insurance plans. Knowledge of such components can assist you to choose a relevant policy as per your budget and requirements. Below the factors that impact the premium amount of Bharti AXA Health Insurance Plans:
- Age – When it comes to illness, young people are less likely to fall sick as compared to older persons. It means that the insurance provider will have to pay off more compensation for the former than the latter. Hence, the age of the policyholder affects the premium amount and charges a higher premium from older insurers.
- Sum Insured – The higher the sum insured amount will be, the more the compensation is to be provided by the insurance provider. So, the sum insured amount is directly proportional to the amount of premium. Therefore, policyholders should select their sum insured amount strictly according to their budgets and requirements.
- Family Medical History – People who come from a family that has a medical history of specific diseases like heart attack, cancer, diabetes, etc., are charged with a higher premium as they are more vulnerable to illnesses due to their genes. In this manner, the family medical history of policyholders affects the health insurance premium amount.
- Harmful Substances – People who have a habit to consume injurious substances through smoking, drinking, or chewing are more susceptible to illnesses. These habits may lead the consumers to suffer more and require them more coverage for treatment. Hence, insurers charge a higher premium from such people or can even decline their applications.
- Body Mass Index (BMI) - People with abnormal Body Mass Index (BMI) are more likely to contract illnesses or ailments such as diabetes, hypertension, and so on, which increases the burden on the insurers. Hence, policyholders with higher or lower BMIs are charged with a higher premium than from policyholders with normal BMIs.
