Riders Available With Star Outpatient Care Health Insurance
The riders available with Star Outpatient Care Health Insurance Plan are as follows:
- Buy Back Pre-Existing Diseases: This add-on reduces the waiting period for pre-existing diseases from 36 months to 12 months. It allows coverage for conditions existing before the policy inception. With this add-on, the waiting period is shortened to 1 year, and after completing the first year, the customer can avail benefits for pre-existing diseases.
- Hospital Daily Cash: Star Health Insurance provides a cash benefit of Rs.1000 per day for each completed day of hospitalisation, with a maximum of 7 days per hospitalisation and 14 days per policy period. This optional cover, available for an additional premium, helps cover petty expenses during the hospital stay.
- Patient Star: This add-on covers the cost of engaging an attendant at the insured person's residence immediately after hospital discharge, as suggested by the physician. It pays up to Rs.400 per day for each completed day in the hospital, for 5 days per occurrence and a total of 14 days during the policy period. A 1-day deductible is applied at claim settlement. This is available only for insured persons above 60 years of age and must be purchased at the policy start or renewal.
- Maternity Cover: Star Health Insurance covers maternity-related expenses, such as child delivery, abortion, or miscarriage, as an add-on to the existing health insurance plan. It also includes coverage for newborn baby expenses. Maternity cover can be included in some plans or added as a rider with an additional premium. It must be purchased at the time of policy issuance or renewal. It's important to note that adding this rider in midway is not possible.
