New India Bike Insurance Policy Document

The policy document of a bike insurance policy is a legal contract between an insurance provider and the policyholder. Additionally, it also serves as proof of insurance. The document possesses all the required details of the bike insurance policy that help discern exactly what the insurance company will provide compensation to the policyholder in the event of a mishap. In India, it is mandatory to have bike insurance for every vehicle. Moreover, it is necessary to be able to prove this by carrying the document. However, it is no longer required to have a hard copy of the document, a soft copy will suffice.

When you purchase bike insurance from New India Insurance they will send you the policy document to your registered address within a few days of your purchase. The policy document is an essential document and will be required during claim settlement and renewal. The particulars on the insurance document are very important. Hence, it is advised that the policyholder check the document for errors as it can lead to complications later n. Here are the things to check in your insurance document:

How to Download New India Bike Insurance Policy Document Using Policy Number?

The following steps will help guide you to download your New India bike insurance policy number:

Step 1: Visit the New India Insurance website or download their app from the google store.

Step 2: Select the menu icon. Then select download your policy.

Step 3: Provide your mobile number or email ID to proceed. Enter your policy number and any other required details such as customer ID.

Step 4: Select policy schedule or policy receipt or both. The document will be saved to your selected location on your device.

Step 5: Once your policy has been downloaded if you want a hard copy print out the document. If you have any issues with the download process contact the New India customer service to help you out.

Do You Need a Hard Copy of New India Bike Insurance Policy Document?

It is compulsory for every vehicle driving on Indian roads to have at least a third party insurance according to the Indian Motor Tariff. It was also expected of every driver to carry a copy of the insurance document along with the other bike documents in their vehicle at all times. However, since the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) launched the e-Vahan Bima application there is no need for drivers to carry the hard copy. A soft copy of the policy document will suffice. Moreover, the QR code can now be scanned, to get all the details of the bike insurance policy.

How Can I Make Changes in My New India Bike Insurance Policy Document?

Endorsements or changes in the policy are of two main types: the financial endorsements, i.e., changes that affect the premium and insured declared value and the non-financial changes that require no additional payment from the policyholder. The New India Assurance Insurance Company offers an online procedure to make such changes. However, if there are any queries or complications during the process you can also contact their customer service for help.

How to Get a Hard Copy of the New India Bike Insurance Policy Document?

When you purchase a bike insurance policy from New India Assurance Insurance Company you will be sent a hard copy of the policy document to your registered address after a few working days of your purchase. However, if you have lost or misplaced the policy document you can visit their website to provide the policy particulars and download a copy. However, if you want to do the process offline it is a bit more complicated. You will have to file an FIR, inform the insurance company of the loss, advertise it in a newspaper and then sign an indemnity bond after which the insurance company will issue you a duplicate copy of the policy.
