SBI Car Insurance Renewal

A car insurance policy needs to be renewed periodically. For new car owners, the first car insurance policy tenure is required to be of 3 years however subsequent policies can have a tenure of 1 year. The policyholder needs to renew the car insurance policy before it expiry in order to continue to keep his/her insured. SBI General Insurance allows you to renew your car insurance policy instantly without the hassle of any documentation process.

SBI Car Insurance Renewal - Online Process

Step 1- Visit the SBI General Insurance’s official website. Go to the ‘Motor’ tab and select ‘Motor Private Car’, and click on ‘Get a quote’. You will be redirected to SBI’s policy issuance platform.

Step 2- Click on the ‘Renew Policy’ option and enter the required details. Check the coverage of your policy. At this stage you can modify your add-ons requirement.

Step 3- Confirm your policy details and proceed for payment of the renewal fee. The payment can be done using a debit/credit card or via Net Banking.

SBI Car Insurance Renewal - Offline Process

To renew your car insurance policy with SBI General Insurance, you call the toll-free numbers 1800-22-1111 or 1800-102-1111 (Monday to Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m) and provide your policy number.

Alternatively, you can also visit the nearest branch and get in touch with a representative to renew your car insurance policy.

  • I want to pay the renewal fee in cash. Can I do that?

    To make the payment of the insurance renewal fee in cash, you need to visit your nearest SBI General Insurance branch and initiate the renewal process. You can locate your nearest SBI General Insurance branch using its official website.

  • When should I renew my SBI car insurance policy?

    You should renew your car insurance policy before its expiry. You can also renew it within 90 days after missing the last renewal date but in case that you would be required to get an inspection done for your car. If you fail to renew the policy even post 90 days of its expiry, you will have to purchase a new car insurance policy for your vehicle.
