Reliance Car Insurance Add on Covers
Reliance General Insurance provides a wide range of add-on covers with its private car package plan to enhance coverage of your policy. You can avail its add-on benefits by paying an additional premium amount.
Reliance - 9 Important Add-on Covers For Your Car Insurance Policy
By including these add-ons in your policy, you can easily enhance the protection of your car:
1. Nil Depreciation Cover
With time depreciation lessens the value of your car, which in turn reduces your car insurance coverage amount. The nil depreciation add-on provides you with the complete cover without reducing the cost of depreciation of any part of your car except for tyre, tube and battery, where only 50% depreciation is exempted. It will help you receive a higher amount of claim. This add-on can be availed by paying an additional premium based on the age and IDV of your car.
2. No Claim Bonus Retention
No Claim Bonus (NCB) is a reward in terms of discount given to policyholders for not making any claim during the policy term. This bonus ranges from 20% to 50% on its own-damage premium, which can be accumulated for not making any claim over the years and can become null and void if even a single claim is made in between. However, with No Claim Bonus Retention add-on cover you can hold on to the NCB discount even after making an own damage claim during the policy period.
3. Consumables Cover
The standard own-damage or comprehensive car insurance plan does not offer compensation for any type of damages sustained by consumable parts and accessories of the car such as engine oil, nuts and bolts, washers, grease, and so on. It will make you bear its cost during the claim settlement. Therefore, to avoid such burdens you can add a consumable cover to your plan. This add-on cover will compensate the amount of the refilled or replaced consumables of your car during its repair after an accident.
4. Engine Cover
With the engine cover add-on, you can get compensation for the expenses incurred due to the repair of damaged engine parts and gearbox parts due to water ingression or leakage of lubricating oil, which would not be covered otherwise under the standard own-damage or comprehensive cover.
5. Key Protect Cover
This add-on cover helps you get compensation for the amount of acquiring a duplicate key if your original key goes missing.
6. Daily Allowance Benefit
If you have to travel by your own as your car is being repaired in a network garage of the insurer and stays there for more than 3 days, this add-on cover will offer you compensation for your daily allowances based on the amount of premium paid.
7. EMI Protection
This EMI Protection add-on covers the EMIs of your car and pays it to the financier if it is being repaired in the network garage of the insurance provider after getting involved in an accident.
8. Total Cover
The total cost is an add on the cover that offers you the compensation for the additional cost of your car which is spent on insurance, road tax and registration cost during the time of Total Loss, theft claims or constructive total loss.
9. Electrical/electronic accessories
By paying an additional premium for this add-on cover, you can get compensation for the expenses incurred on the repair of electrical/electronic fittings in your car which include fog lights, air-conditioner, brake light, and music system after an accident.
