IFFCO Tokio Car Insurance Add on Covers

Car Insurance add-ons refer to the extra coverages which you can buy for an additional premium with your standard car insurance plan and extend its coverage for specific car parts or insure yourself to get emergency services. Iffco Tokio General Insurance offers a host of car insurance add-on covers. These add-on covers can be opted with IFFCO Tokio.

IFFCO Tokio - 11 Important Add-on Covers For Your Car Insurance Policy

Comprehensive Car Insurance Plan as well as with the Standalone Own-Damage Car Insurance Plan. Following are the add-on covers available with IFFCO Tokio car insurance plans:

1. Zero Depreciation Cover

Just like other things, your car and its parts also experience depreciation. Depreciation refers to the loss in value due to wear and tear of time. By default, the liability to bear the depreciation charge of the car is of the car’s owner and the depreciation charge is thus deducted from the claim amount by the insurer at the time of a claim settlement. However, when you opt for this add-on, you can relieve yourself from bearing the depreciation applicable on your car and all its plastic and metal parts at 100% except tyres, tubes and batteries which are covered at 50%.

2. Engine Protection Cover

This add-on, helps you get your engine and the gearbox against damages caused by water ingression and leakage of lubricants. This is a recommended add-on as the engine is an integral part of your car and its repair is often a costly affair.

3. Key Replacement Cover

This add-on insures you against the cost of replacement of the key of your car if it gets damaged, misplaced or stolen.

4. No Claim Bonus Protection

When you do not make any claim during the policy period, you are entitled to a reward known as No Claim Bonus at the time of renewal of your policy. The NCB is available to you as a discount ranging between 20% to 50% on your own-damage premium depending on the number of claim-free years. However, this reward is lost if you make even a single claim. However, if you have a No Claim Bonus Protection Cover, your NCB remains intact even after you make a claim during the policy period.

5. Windshield Glass Cover

When you opt for this add-on, the insurer insures you against the replacement cost of windshield if it gets cracked or broken. Also, this cover ensures that your No Claim Bonus is not affected when you make a claim under this add-on.

6. Consumables Cover

The expense on the replenishment of consumables like nuts, bolts, and engine oil of your car is not covered by default under a standard car insurance plan. The Consumables Cover helps you fill this gap and insures you against the cost of consumables of your car in return for an additional premium.

7. Return to Invoice

In case of total loss or theft of your car, the insurer provides you the Insured Declared Value (IDV) of your car which is lesser than the Invoice Price which you actually paid at the time of purchasing the car. This add-on helps you fill the gap between the invoice price and the IDV of your car by paying you the invoice price in the event of a total loss or theft of your car. The invoice price includes the ex-showroom price of your car, road tax as well as the registration charges of your car.

8. Roadside Assistance

This add-on offers you roadside assistance if your car gets stranded due to an accident, flat tyre, dead battery, mechanical fault, engine issue, fuel shortage, or any other reason in the middle of a road. Roadside Assistance offers you numerous valuable services, like towing, key replacement and refueling if your car experiences a sudden breakdown.

9. Garage Cash Cover

In case your car is at the garage for repairs, this add-on pays for a vehicle which you may hire for your commutation.

10. Personal Belongings Cover

This add-on offers coverage for loss of your personal belongings from the car, as long as you have taken precautions to lock and secure your car.

11. Ambulance and Medical Expense Add-On

This add-on pays for Ambulance and Medical Expenses which you may incur in case your car meets an accident or any other mishap.
