  • What are the key features of Arogya Sanjeevani Policy, SBI General?

    Key features of the policy are:

    • Sum insured range: Rs. 1 Lakh to Rs. 5 Lakh
    • Premium payment: Annually, Monthly, Quarterly, or Half-yearly instalments 
    • No Claim Bonus of 5% for every claim-free year up to 50% of sum insured
    • The policy is renewable for lifetime
    • Cashless or reimbursement facility
  • What is the minimum and maximum entry age under this policy?

    The minimum and maximum entry age under this plan is 3 months and 65 years respectively. 

  • What is the policy term?

    Arogya Sanjeevani Policy, SBI General is an annual policy. It has to be renewed every year. 

  • Is there any waiting period under the policy?

    Arogya Sanjeevani Policy, SBI General comes with the following waiting periods during which no claims will be entertained:

    • Waiting period of 48 months for pre-existing diseases
    • An initial waiting period of 30 days from the date of commencement of policy (except for accidents)
    • Waiting period of 48 months (except accidents) for treatment of joint replacement
    • Waiting period of 48 months (except accidents) for age-related Osteoarthritis and Osteoporosis
    • Waiting period of 24 months for some specific illnesses
  • Can the waiting period under this policy be waived off in any case?

    The waiting period might be waived off only in the case when the insured had continuous policy coverage from another insurer but has now ported it to SBI General Insurance. 

  • Is there any discount offered to the policyholders under this policy?

    The policyholders can enjoy the following discount on premium paid for this policy-

    • Online discount of 10% discount
    • Non-floater discount of 2.5% if two adults are covered, and 5% if more than 3 adults are covered
    • SBI Group Employee Discount of 5%  
  • What is the notification period for planned or emergency hospitalisation?

    In case of planned hospitalisation, you must inform either the insurance company or the TPA within 48 hours of hospitalisation or before discharge whichever is earlier. Whereas in case of emergency hospitalisation, you must notify within 24 hours of hospitalisation or before discharge whichever is earlier. 

  • Is there any co-payment clause under this policy?

    Yes. 5% co-payment is applicable for all admissible claims under this policy.  

  • What are the in-patient hospitalisation expenses covered under this policy?

    Following in-patient hospitalisation expenses are covered under the policy:

        • Room rent, Boarding, and Nursing charges up to a specific limit
        • ICU and ICCU charges up to a specific limit
        • Fee of Surgeon, Doctor, Anaesthetist, Consultants, Medical Practitioner, Specialist, etc.
        • Expenses related to blood, oxygen, anaesthesia, surgical appliances, OT expenses, etc.
        • Other expenses such as dental treatment arising from a disease or an injury, Cataract expenses up to a specific limit, plastic surgery because of a disease or an injury, road ambulance expenses up to a specific limit, and all daycare procedures

  • Can I change the sum insured amount under this policy?

    The sum insured amount can be increased or decreased under this policy only at the time of renewal.
