Reasons of Rejections
Much to the dislike of insurance holders, there are few reasons why the claims can be rejected. Some of these reasons fall under terms and conditions of insurance provider:
- Lapsed insurance policy
Your claim request will be rejected if your insurance policy has expired. Renew your policy in time to avoid claim rejection.
- Driving without license
United India Insurance is not liable to render any claim if you were driving the vehicle without a valid driving license.
- Driver under alcohol influence
If the insurance company finds that the accident is caused under the influence of alcohol, no reimbursement will be provided by the company.
- Delay in notifying the insurer about damage
If the policyholder fails to inform the insurer within a stipulated time frame, the company may reject the claim application.
- Failing to inform insurer before repairing
You must inform the insurer about the accident before taking the car for repairs. Failing this might lead to rejection of the claim.
United India No Claim Bonus
No Claim Bonus (NCB) is a reward in terms of discount offered by United India General Insurance to its policyholders on their own-damage premium for not raising any claim during the policy period. This benefit can be earned for every consecutive claim-free year starting from 20% which can go upto a maximum of 50% over a span of 5 years. It is considered the best and simplest way to lessen the premium cost of the car insurance plan for the next policy year at the time of renewal, which means it needs consistent and timely renewal of policy, otherwise, you may lose the benefit.
No Claim Bonus is a token of appreciation that you receive for carefully maintaining and driving your car. Since it is given for making no claim which could be possible only with responsible and safe drive, this benefit belongs to the policyholder and not the insured vehicle. Therefore, in case you are planning to change your car or insurance company, then you can transfer the benefit of the NCB to your new car or policy by complying to some terms and conditions. It means, if you decide to trade your old car for a new one, still you can hold the NCB with you which could even help you cut down the premium of your new car as well.
