  • What are the sum insured options available under the policy?

    The policy comes in three variants, Silver, Gold and Diamond, with different sum insured options. Under Silver variant, the sum insured ranges from Rs. 2 Lakh to Rs. 5 Lakh; under Gold variant, it ranges from Rs. 6 Lakh to Rs. 10 Lakh and under Diamond variant it is Rs. 12 Lakh, Rs. 15 Lakh, Rs. 18 Lakh and Rs. 20 Lakh. 

  • What is the maximum entry age under this policy?

    The maximum entry age under the policy is 65 years for all members; however, this can be extended to 70 years subject to conditions.

  • What is the entry age for children under the policy?

    Generally, dependent children between the age of 91 days to 18 years are covered under the policy. However, the financially dependent male child can be covered up to 25 years of age. A female child can be covered until she gets married.

  • Is pre-acceptance medical check-up required to obtain this policy?

    A pre-acceptance medical check-up is required for persons aged 60 years and above under Silver and Gold variants. However, under Diamond variant, the persons aged 55 years and above are required to undergo a pre-acceptance medical check-up.

  • What is the term and renewability option available under the policy?

    Term of the Policy is one year and is renewable lifelong.

  • Are pre-existing diseases covered under the policy?

    Pre-existing diseases are covered after a waiting period of four consecutive policy years.

  • Are there any discounts on premium available under the policy?

    A discount of 5.5% is allowed in premium if services of TPA are not opted. Also, a discount of 5% is allowed on premium if the policy is purchased or renewed online and no intermediary is involved.

  • Is midterm inclusion of members permitted under the policy?

    Yes, midterm inclusion of members is permitted on payment of pro-rata premium under the following cases:
    i. Newlywed spouse can be included within 90 days of marriage or at the time of renewal
    ii. A newborn can be covered from the 91st day of birth or at the time of renewal

  • Under what conditions critical illnesses covered under the policy, and which diseases are covered?

    Critical illness is covered under Life Hardship Survival Benefit add-on cover. If during the policy period, the insured person is diagnosed with any of the 11 specified critical illnesses, then survival benefit is paid to the insured person. The critical illnesses covered under the policy include -
    1. Cancer of specified severity
    2. Open chest CABG
    3. First heart attack of specified severity
    4. Major organ/bone marrow transplant
    5. Coma of specified severity
    6. Kidney failure requiring regular dialysis
    7. Open heart replacement or repair of heart valves
    8. Stroke resulting in permanent symptoms
    9. Motor neuron disease with permanent symptoms
    10. Permanent paralysis of limbs
    11. Multiple sclerosis with persistent symptoms.

  • Can I buy this policy for a sum insured of Rs. 1 Lakh?

    No. The minimum sum insured under this policy for people buying it for the first time is Rs. 2 Lakh. But those who were already insured with Rs. 1 Lakh sum insured under this policy are allowed to continue availing the same coverage. Similarly, those who were already covered with Rs. 1.5 Lakh sum insured are allowed to continue availing the same cover. But no new member is allowed to buy the policy for Rs. 1 Lakh sum insured.
