SBI General Insurance Issues Group Health Cover to Individuals with Down Syndrome
One of India's most reputable general insurance providers, SBI General Insurance, has issued a group health insurance plan for individuals with Down syndrome. The company has taken the initiative to provide quality healthcare facilities to specially-abled individuals, especially those with Down syndrome, during hospitalization.
SBI General Insurance issued this group plan to an NGO named Nutan Gulgule Foundation, This non-governmental organization was incorporated to assist parents and families of individuals with Down syndrome by providing assistance at each life stage for those who need support, guidance, and a purposeful, independent life.
The Group Health Insurance Policy by SBI General will cover expenses for any hospitalisation that may happen during the policy period. The sum insured under this policy will be between Rs. 3 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh.
Over the years, SBI General has been involved in a variety of initiatives that support the livelihood and nutrition aspects of specially-abled individuals. This year, the company's corporate social responsibility policy statement placed a strong emphasis on seven key areas, including eradicating poverty and malnutrition, promoting education across all sectors, preventing healthcare crises, protecting the environment, and enhancing road safety.
In addition to the above, SBI General Insurance has also provided financial support to the Nutan Gulgule Foundation for the construction of the "Swanand Seva Sadan," a structure that will accommodate 20 beds for people with disabilities under its CSR Programme. Arnala is being built in Virar during this fiscal year.

Hence, we have issued a group health insurance policy to the Nutan Gulgule Foundation, a leading NGO working in the area, which covers individuals with Down syndrome.
We are happy to be able to contribute as a responsible corporate entity by providing this group health insurance, which aims to provide financial support to individuals during medical emergencies. In the near future, we plan to cover other disabilities as well.”
