Magma HDI Launches the Coverage for Infertility Treatment

Magma HDI General Insurance Company has decided to offer the coverage for infertility treatment of women through IVF or In-Vitro Fertilisation procedure. The launch has made the company become the first firm of doing so in India as a standalone company.

In India, the number of infertility cases is on the rise, while its treatment is very costly. Also, surveys denote that one in every eight women falls prey to infertility. The treatment of IVF costs around Rs. 1.5 Lakh in small towns, which sore up to Rs. 3.5 Lakh in bigger cities.

Magma HDI has said that it would also offer coverage for LASIK, bariatric, and psychiatric treatment under its premium policy plan. These insurance covers are available with a waiting period of three years, said Amit Bhandari, Chief Technical Officer, Magma HDI. The firm has entered into the business of health insurance with the introduction of indemnity policy.
