PM Modi Receives His Second Dose of Covid-19 Vaccine
Prime Minister Narendra Modi received his second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine at the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, early this morning. He got his first shot of the Covaxin, the country’s first indegenous Covid-19 vaccine on March 1. It is after 37 days since his first shot that PM Modi received the second dose. It must be noted that the Indian Prime Minister was the first beneficiary on March 1 as the nationwide vaccination was allowed for people above 60 years and those over 45 years with other illnesses. Two nurses, Nisha Sharma from Punjab and P Niveda from Puducherry administered the vaccine to Mr. Modi.

After getting vaccinated for coronavirus, the Prime Minister tweeted a photo of his vaccination. Moreover, he highlighted in his tweet that vaccination is among the few ways India has for defeating the coronavirus. He also urged the eligible people to get their vaccine shot soon. Unlike the previous time, Mr. Modi was seen wearing a face mask while receiving his second Covid-19 vaccine shot. In his tweet, he also shared a link to the CoWin website, a portal to register for the vaccine.
As per the latest developments, vaccination for coronavirus can be held at workplaces with around 100 eligible and willing beneficiaries. Moreover, the Centre has decided to enhance the accessibility to the vaccine amid rising coronavirus cases. It must be noted that the programme will be launched on April 11. All the states and Union Territories have been asked to be prepared for the same.
India recorded over 1.15 lakh new novel coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours. This is the first time ever since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic that cases have sky-rocketed. According to the Indian government, the coming next four weeks are extremely critical for everyone.
It must be noted that India is the third worst-hit country after the United States and Brazil.
