The costs of acceptable medical expenses during the treatment (including treatment for during quarantine period) shall be settled as per the applicable policy terms and conditions and the existing regulatory framework.

All the claim requests related to the coronavirus shall be thoroughly investigated by the claims review committee before any kind of rejection.

To meet the health insurance requirements of different sets of people, insurers are asked to design products to cover coronavirus too.

The guidelines are issued under the provision of Section 14(2) (e) if the IRDAI Act, 1999. These shall come into force immediately.
