For registered users, the procedure is pretty straightforward! 

Step 1) Visit the official LIC website. 

Step 2) Click on the “Login” option in the top-right corner of the website. Then, you'll be redirected to a new webpage where you can choose to log in via User ID or OTP.  

Step 3) On the dashboard, click on “view enrolled policies” to view all your LIC policies. 

Step 4) From the list, you can select the policy of which you want to check the status, including premium payment history, maturity date, loan status, bonus information, and more. 

Step-by-Step Procedure To Check LIC Policy Status Online (For New Users)

If you are a new user, first you have to “Create Your LIC Account.” Here’s how! 

Step 1) Visit the official LIC website. 

Step 2) Click on the “Login” option in the top-right corner of the website. Then, you'll be redirected to a login webpage where you have to click on “Don't have an account? Sign Up.”

Step 3) Enter the required details, including policy Number, instalment premium (as per in the Policy Bond), DOB (Date of Birth), mobile number, email ID, and gender. 

Step 4) Check on the declaration and click on “Proceed.”

Step 5) A verification link will be sent to your email ID, which you need to verify as soon as possible. 

Step 6) Enter a unique password of a minimum of 6 characters, combining uppercase, lowercase, numeric and special characters. Once done, click on confirm password. And you are done!

Steps To Check LIC Policy Status Using LIC App

For checking the LIC policy status, an app of LIC can be used.

• Log in to the app using your User ID, Password, and date of birth.
• If you have already enrolled in your policy, click on the desired policy to check the LIC policy status.

How To Check LIC Policy Status Without Registration by SMS?

LIC offers an SMS service to check the status of your policy without registration on the portal. Before we explain the procedure of sending messages, it's important for you to understand the different prompts used for different enquiries. 

Below, we have curated a table of the prompts along with the situation of when to use them.  

Here’s how to send the SMS from your registered mobile number. 

So, the company has provided two contact numbers, i.e., “9222492224” or “56767877”. You can send the SMS to any of them in the following way. 

Open the SMS application on your mobile phone and type the following message:

ASKLIC <policy number> Your Prompt

For example, if your policy number is 123456789 and you want to enquire about premium due information, the message will be:

ASKLIC 123456789 PREMIUM

Within a few moments, you will receive an SMS reply from LIC containing the status of your policy.

How To Check LIC Policy Status with Policy Number?

If you don’t prefer to use the online mode or the SMS one, we have another method. 

Policyholders can get in touch with an LIC representative via call through the IVR (Interactive Voice Response) system. 

• If you are a BSNL or MTNL user, dial 1251. 
• Contact LIC call centre at +91-022 6827 6827 (The number is active 24*7)
