DC Car Insurance

If you buy a DC car or have already one, you should make sure to own a car insurance policy. The insurance cover will give protection to both owner and the car from different uncertainties of the road. In the case of an accident, the insurance company will provide you with compensation for the damages or losses sustained by your car which gives you financial stability in a time of crisis.

Buying a car is an expensive affair due to which it is crucial to keep it in perfect condition which may take high maintenance costs. With a standalone own-damage policy, you can shield your DC car from a range of scenarios that includes road accidents, fire, vandalism, natural disaster, and manmade calamities. Also, it is essential to buy at least a third party car insurance policy to drive a car on Indian roads as per the Motor Vehicles Act. This basic insurance will cover third party liabilities such as injuries, death and property damage. Driving your car without this cover can get you penalised with a fine of Rs 2,000 and/or sentence for up to 3 months imprisonment.

The premium of your DC car insurance is computed by the Insured Declared Value (IDV), which signifies the highest amount of compensation an insurer can provide in the situation of a mishap. You can strengthen your policy by expanding its coverage by including some add-on covers as per your needs and budget. Below are top add-on covers that you can add to your DC Car Insurance:

  • Zero Depreciation Cover: This add-on cover eliminates the depreciation rate from the calculation of claim settlement due to which you can get a higher claim amount. However, it is available only for DC that is not more than 5 years old and can be utilised a specific number of times within a policy term as per the policy wording.
  • Roadside Assistance Cover: If your DC car breaks down anywhere, this add-on cover will ensure that the insurance company will provide you with assistance such as towing the car to the nearest garage, arrangement of transport, on-site repairs, and so on.
  • GAP Value Cover: If your car sustains theft or total loss, this add-on cover will ensure that you get the complete invoice price of the car with road tax and registration costs. You can get this add-on cover by paying an additional premium.

Claim Cashless Car Insurance For DC Cars

The cashless claim process is a facility designed to help you get your car repaired at a network garage of your insurer without paying anything. Under this option, all the repair bills will be paid off by the insurance company after examining the repair invoice and relevant documents. To avail the cashless facility, you should convey your insurance company soon after an accident to initiate the claim process.

With cashless car insurance, you will not have to pay for the repair bill of your DC car for its damages that may arise due to a mishap. Also, under this facility, policyholders need to submit lesser documents and have to go through negligible formalities, which makes the process faster and easier. A surveyor is sent immediately by the insurance company to examine and develop a report based on which the claim is settled. Renew Expired Policy for DC Cars

A car insurance policy is an agreement between an insurance company and an insured person that needs to be renewed before expiry date. Failing to renew the policy on time can make it null and void that would make you lose out on several benefits. However, even after the date of expiry, different insurance firms offer a 90 day grace period to renew the policy in the form of an extension. If your car insurance policy is not renewed even after the grace period, the insurance company can reject your renewal application or can levy hefty fines for renewal.

The car insurance policy expiration brings different types of crisis from legal trouble, loss of NCB, uninsured car, and so on. To renew your car insurance policy, you can simply visit the website of your insurance company and click on the renew option available there.
