Read this article to find out how you can get No Objection Certificate for your bike online.

When selling a bike or relocating to another location in India, you must submit a long list of paperwork. During the sale, both the buyer and seller, as well as the owner, must present necessary paperwork and follow all rules in order to complete the procedure. When you are transferring a bike from one jurisdiction to another, the NOC, or No Objection Certificate, is one of the necessary documents.

So, if you're planning to sell or buy a used bike, or move it from one state to another, you'll need to know what a NOC is and how to get one. The following article covers all elements of a vehicle's NOC, including its understanding, paperwork, and the process of acquiring one.

How To Get The NOC For Bike Online

What Is a No Objection Certificate For A Bike?

A No Objection Certificate is a legal authorization granting document issued by the Regional Transport Office (RTO) that allows a vehicle's jurisdiction authority to be released. When a vehicle receives a NOC from the RTO where it was first registered, it becomes ready for registration in another RTO's jurisdiction with all necessary permissions. It, for example, authenticates a vehicle's transfer at an existing RTO without the need for challans, dues, or taxation.

The two-wheeler No Objection Certificate is a legal document that says that the issuing agency or bank has no objections to the information on the certificate. When it comes to motor vehicles, the NOC is issued by the bank for loan repayment, which may be used to remove or cancel the bike's hypothecation to the bank, or by the RTO if you wish to register your bike with a different RTO. In both situations, the NOC is required to continue the procedure.

Acquiring a NOC is now accessible through an online process through the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways' online site, Parivahan. However, not all states have made it possible to apply for a NOC online. Before proceeding, make sure that online NOC is available in your state. The following are the steps that you can follow to apply for a No Objection Certificate for your bike -

1. Go to the ‘Parivahan' website.

2. Click on 'Proceed' after entering your vehicle's registration number.

3. Choose ‘Application for No Objection Certificate' from the list of choices on the redirected page.

4. Enter the last five digits of your vehicle's chassis number on the following page.

5. After that, fill in all of the requested information and submit any necessary documents.

6. Now, pay the fees for the RTO you're dealing with.

7. Take a print of the application form as well as the acknowledgement receipt that has been created.

8. In person, submit the application form, acknowledgement slip, and relevant papers to the RTO in question.

After document verification, you may anticipate obtaining approval of your NOC as soon as possible.

Validity of The No Objection Certificate For Your Bike

NOCs are only valid for 6 months after they are issued. When relocating a bike from one state to another, be sure to re-register the vehicle with your new jurisdictional RTO within this time frame if you have acquired the certificate.

The same is true when a vehicle is sold and the buyer must register it with a new RTO in another state within six months. If the requirements are not met, the certificate's validity expires, and the process to get a NOC for a vehicle must be restarted from the beginning.

If you have relocated to a new State or within the State, the NOC is required to register your bike within the jurisdiction of the new RTO. If you do not submit the NOC, the new RTO will not register your bike. If you're selling your bike and it was hypothecated to a bank for a bike loan, you'll also need to provide the bank's NOC to register the bike in the new owner's name. Without the bank's NOC, the RTO will not revoke the hypothecation. As a result, the NOC is a crucial legal document that you must get for a variety of reasons.
