Top 8 Essential Parts of Your Bike And Tips To Maintain It

You don’t have to be a mechanic to maintain your bike in good shape. Follow these simple tips to take care of the top 10 most essential parts of your bike -

  • Engine

The engine is the most important component of the bike. Any problem with the engine of the bike results in a problem with the bike's performance. So make sure to maintain the bike regularly and don't forget to bank the engine oil. If the oil is black, make sure to replace it and don’t forget to check the engine oil level.  Also, keep in mind that there shouldn’t be any leaks in the engine oil. Riding a motorcycle with unclean engine oil reduces mileage and shortens the life of the engine.

  • Spark Plug

During service, inspect the spark plug as well. In a four-stroke bike, clean the carburettor every 1,500 kilometres and replace the spark plug every 1,500 kilometres. It may be difficult to start the bike if there is a problem with the spark plug.

  • Clutch

Keep the clutch grip loose. If it is too tight, it indicates that something is wrong with the bike. Therefore the grip must be adjusted appropriately. If the grip is overly tight, more force is applied to the hold, which might reduce the vehicle's mileage. Maintain free play in the clutch so that the clutch isn't squeezed while driving the bike and the bike isn't damaged.

  • Bike’s Chain

It's also critical to keep the bike's chain in good working order. Cleaning the chain should be done on a regular basis. Clean it with a gentle brush to remove any soil, but never wash it with water. As a result, the chain has a probability of rusting. Never tie the string too tight or too loose, and double-check the line with the mechanic on a regular basis.

  • Teflon Coating

Make sure the new bike has a Teflon coating, as dust and rain might cause the bike's color to fade. In this case, the Teflon coating protects the motorcycle from deterioration and prevents stains from appearing. These help to keep the bike appealing.
