Common Exclusions Under Max Life ULIP Plans
Following are the events that would not be covered under ULIP plans offered by Max Life.
1. Suicide Exclusion
If the Life Insured dies by suicide, whether sane or insane, within 12 months from the date of commencement of the policy or from the date of revival of the policy, as applicable, the nominee or beneficiary shall be entitled to the fund value, as available on the date of intimation of death.
Furthermore, any charges recovered after the date of death, other than Fund Management Charges (FMC), would be added back to the fund value as of the date of intimation of death.
2. Pre-existing Condition
Because death caused by a pre-existing sickness erroneously rigs the odds of receiving insurance benefits because the event is predicted, it will not be covered under insurance protection. In case the dreaded disease/ surgery occurs within the waiting period(90 to 180 days) of the policy issuance, depending upon the contract terms and conditions.
3. Self-Inflicted Injuries
Any accidental injury, which occurs due to self-inflicted injury does not qualify for coverage under Max Life ULIP plans.
4. Involvement in Breach of Law
In case the life is sure is involved in any unlawful activity resulting in injury case where the injury occurred is not as per the policy terms and conditions. The firm is not liable for paying the death benefits to the policy beneficiaries if the death occurs as a result of participation in activities that are considered illegal by the law. Lawbreaking is a serious offence that is not covered by the Max life insurance ULIP plans.
