Chief Minister's Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme (AMMA Health Insurance)

Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme (CMCHIS) is launched by the Government of Tamil Nadu through United India Insurance Company Ltd, a public sector insurance company headquartered in Chennai. Also known as Amma Health Insurance, the scheme is designed to provide quality healthcare facilities to underprivileged families falling in the low-income group category. The eligible persons insured under the scheme can avail cashless treatment at empanelled government and private hospitals thereby reducing their financial burden at the time of emergency. The scheme will help the enrolled families to move towards universal health insurance coverage by effectively linking with the public health system.

This TN CM Insurance Scheme comes with the following features:

  • Family Floater Plan: CMCHIS is a family floater health insurance policy. All the registered members of the eligible family can avail themselves of benefits under it. Being covered under the scheme keeps the pol stress-free.
  • Cashless Claims: The CMCHIS policyholders can avail of cashless treatment at the network hospital. This means they are not required to pay anything at the hospital after availing of the treatment. This brings a lot of relief to the policyholder as they can focus on their well-being instead of worrying about arranging money for treatment.
  • Access to Health Camps: The network hospitals are required to organize health camps for at least one time every month. The policyholder can get access to free health check-ups and follow-up treatments frequently in the camps.
  • Cover for Sri Lankan Refugees: There is no restriction on the income of a Sri Lankan refugee to be covered under Amma Health Insurance. One can avail of seamless healthcare facilities at the desired center.
  • 24*7 Assistance: There is an active call center wherein the personnel answer various questions related to CMCHIS. If someone is facing any issue in understanding the policy features, etc., then they can seek easy solutions at the center.
  • A wide network of Hospitals: there is a huge number of hospitals that are impaneled to offer healthcare services under the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme. The policyholders can therefore reach the medical facility sooner in case of an emergency. This ensures that the patient receives treatment at the right time.
  • High Sum Insured: Amma Health Insurance comes with a sum insured of Rs. 5 lakh for every family per year. The sum insured is sufficient to cover minor healthcare expenses.
