- You need to first visit your nearest RTO or Regional Transport Office
- To get the vehicle registration certificate issued, your vehicle will be inspected first by the RTO officer
- Next, you need to fill out form 20 to complete your registration certificate
- The RTO officer will also take the vehicle chassis number imprint
- Next, you will have to submit the relevant documents such as aadhar card, PAN card, vehicle insurance copy, temporary registration issued by the motor dealer, etc.
- Finally, pay the registration fees and then the vehicle registration certificate will be issued to you
Alternatively, you can also get vehicle registration from your vehicle dealer. This will save you time to go to the RTO and undergo the tedious registration process.
What If I Don’t Have A Vehicle Registration Certificate?
It is mandatory to have a vehicle registration certificate while driving on Indian roads. In case you are found riding in your vehicle without a valid vehicle registration certificate, then you will be fined. In case you violate this law for the first time, the fine will be Rs. 5000. If you are found violating this law for the second time, then the fine gets doubled and turns out to be Rs. 10,000.
