Calculate Your Car Insurance
Depreciation is the decrease in the value of a car part. The reason for depreciation is time, as time passes the car and its parts keep depreciating due to their age and natural wear and tear. Depreciation is an ongoing process that applies until the vehicle's value becomes nil. Acko’s zero depreciation is an add-on that does not charge you for the depreciation during the claim. In simple words, with a zero depreciation add-on, Acko does not take depreciation into account while providing a claim. The zero depreciation add-on saves your money and also prevents the IDV (insured declared value) of your car from decreasing due to the depreciation.
What is Zero Depreciation Car Insurance?
Zero depreciation is an add-on that you can add to your stand-alone own damage (SAOD) or comprehensive car insurance policy. This add-on protects you from paying for the depreciated cost of the car or its part during a claim.
For example, if your total payable amount for repair is Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 6,000 is the depreciation cost of the car part, then without a zero depreciation cover the insurer will provide only Rs. 24,000 as the claim. On the other hand, if you have zero depreciation coverage, then the insurer will pay the complete amount of Rs. 30,000.
Hence, taking zero depreciation car insurance benefits you financially as it saves you from paying for the depreciation of the car and ensures that the insurer provides a total claim.
